His marketing ploy was a success and today Firestone is still the largest player in the US agricultural tyre market. And although Firestone is owned by Bridgestone and is its second brand, it rules the roost in the agricultural field.

Another of Harvey Firestone's sayings was, "Race on Sunday. Sell the tyres on Monday.' And again he went on to make big inroads into the car tyre market, not only in the USA, but also in Europe.

As a car tyre Firestone offers a sporty reliable product, a second choice to the Bridgestone, but using the same technology and construction methods to achieve a good standard. The Firestone brand now is owned by Bridgestone.
